Discotek has announced on their blog that “box set 1″ of Fist of the North Star will contain 36 episodes, with a loose street date of sometime this June.  They also include a picture of what I assume is tentative boxart.

Déjà vu…

This is great news!  We’ve known since 2009 Discotek was planning to release the series this year, but this is the first we’ve heard about it since then.

Still no word on what masters they’ve acquired, or how many discs, but I have to say I’m pretty pleased to see things moving along.  36 episodes is a nice chunk to get at once.
