I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: it’s a travesty that Fist of the North Star: The Legends of the True Savior hasn’t been released in North America. It’s an excellent collection of five OVAs and movies animated between 2006 and 2008 that cover various events from the Fist of the North Star universe. Will somebody license this please? Sentai Filmworks already worked with North Stars Pictures on bringing over Legends of the Dark King, so they seem like a perfect fit.
In the meantime, here are a couple of recent YouTube videos dealing with the Legends of the True Savior pentalogy.
First of all, TowardTheBlueSky is an excellent YouTube channel. Among other things, they routinely post footage from Legends of the True Savior with voice acting and music from the original 1984 TV series dubbed in! It’s pretty damn great! Here’s their latest video:
Secondly, here’s an English fandub of a Legends of the True Savior clip, made by angelwheats. I know plenty of otaku out there who prefer their anime modern and in English. How cool would it be to get them into Fist of the North Star by way of these OVAs? I say these guys should dub the whole thing!

I completely agree!
I’d love Sentai to license this movie/ova saga and dub it.
Apparently just a portion the production cost was 23 Million Yen (about $300,000 US). Wouldn’t be surprised it the total cost to make this was seven or even eight figures.
The license cost is probably at least in the hundreds of thousands.
Maybe Sentai is just waiting for the price to drop (or waiting to save up).
Anyways every now and then I email Sentai requesting them to get it.
